if it is just a paper gasket it will make no difference. Some cases have a rubber gasket that fits into a groove and they are sided.

Well it's out. Put case on bench, stuck dewalt impact driver in with hex attachment.... Stripped it straight away. Put a left hand thread bolt extractor in....it bit but the driver couldn't shift it. Stalemate.
Took punch then drilled small hole for leverage then took punch again and whacked it with hammer repeatedly. Then it suddenly just gave.
No corrosion on the thread, just the top surface. Amazing how much of bond a bit of aluminium on steel can form.
