There's a good 5degress to go before pegs down I reckon. That's as far as I'm going to take matters given the road surface, already pushed my luck earlier in the year. Going to start trackdays again next year so will crack on properly.
My mate has found roundabout arsing about to be really useful. He used to ride trials and only rode a xr250 on the road. The whole riding style of a road bike was very alien to him and going round and round in circles broke him out of a mental block on leaning and whatever.I think it's great practice.

I don't ride on my toes like a lot of "sportier" riders, I prefer the traditional middle of the boot on the peg relaxed setup so the front of my boots scrape the tarmac quite regularly. I feel quite leant over but I know I'm not really.

Doesn't that feel dangerous? I try and get the feet well out of the way. I just imagine them digging in and ending up like I did a few month back.
I seem to remember Troy Bayliss rode quite duckfooted and he was quick enough.

Nah, just the toe sliders that scrape the tarmac…

That dude I've been riding with got his knee down yesterday....AT 64!!! Didn't even know he was that old as he doesn't look it. He was pleased as punch. Not a bad transition from a lifetime of riding trials to scraping the knee on the floor at 64 years of age.
He just wanted some decent pics of him riding out of it and I duly obliged. Some cunt at Squires charges £18 for a photo of you riding up to the car park entrance in a straight line. Amazing how much quicker you can learn with photos and video footage. The eureka moments about where you are hanging off or how much more you can safely lean come easier.
I think he's now eyeing up one of those Aprilia 660s as tbh he's holding a pretty good pace but is getting frustrated with the RC390s lack of top end.

Found this from my nc30 in 1998. Hope that's enough lean angle for Pantah. I loved that bike.

That's one of the things I regret about then Vs now. No abundance of tech to record stuff.
Then again I take decent pics of everyone else, hand them the camera and they can't even take anything in focus. A bit like being a hairdresser as you can't cut your own hair.

Fuck me. This is doing my nut in. We've found a large, flat grippy and empty car park on an industrial estate and I can't for the fucking life of my get my knee down on the left side. Right side is pretty good, if a hint of Colin Edwards. I just assumed left would be just as easy.
I'm getting the lean angle but I'm going all Doohan and crossbody. My right shoulder is still a bit injury jacked and I can't seem to flatten my right arm out like I can with the left on the right handers, it just won't drape over the tank. The other thing is I've got that riding on the road and keeping an eye on oncoming traffic going on so I can make myself commit to look to the inside properly and I end up twisting out of shape.
This has no triggered my OCD and I've just bought some of those sports marker cones so we can make a proper roundabout. Small things eh!
