Anyone tried this? Set of leathers on Ebay that i fancy but they've got a few superficial marks on them. I've read you can repaint them with acrylic leather paints. Seems like a good idea if it's works properly.

i think you'll be ok here, meeks. i've had the same rs taichi suit for 20 years. i think they were one of the first to 'paint' detail onto suits to keep the weight down, rather than stitch leather 'shapes' onto a suit. anyway my point is, the painted detail is as good today as it was when we were all cacking ourselves about the millenium bug. i say go for it.

Considering how good car restorers can get fucked leather seats to look with liquid leather repair, I'd not be surprised if it gives good results, at least as far as looks are concerned.
Not sure if I like the idea of leathers that have scuffs on them though... as I posted a while back, I went looking for used leathers, and by far the majority were in the "No way José" category.

Got the leathers, the are in really good nick considering they must be quite old. They are Shoei ones and were apparently made by Nankai. Armour needs replacing as its some rubbish that's crumbled in places but the leather is really nice and supple. May just pull all the armour and buy some under armour like Forcefield stuff.
Just need to paint the yellow bits orange to match the KTM and I'm sorted.

Found some £2 black matte acrylic in Hobby craft. Diluted 50/50 with water and gave an initial dab over with a sponge and left for 5 minutes. Then put on the paint full strength. Had to put on a 2nd coat but seems ok and has done the job of getting rid of the yellow bits.
