The Old Trout's too tight to raid the piggy bank. Taz needed to bring 200k to the party.

Oh well, BSB again. Has Birdy announced his riders yet?
More interested in the motogp rejects tbh as I think MacKenzie would just suffer the same fate as other brits on bikes that aren't quite there. This said Baz made the bike look OK and Chaz look a bit crap.

www.crash.net/wss/news/991624/1/boothamos-joins-prodina-kawasaki-buis-and-currie-motozoo-2022-worldsspTBA moves from riding a Kawasaki in the Kawasaki cup that is JNRWSS300 to riding a Kawasaki in the Yamaha cup that is WSS600. Well it was the Yamaha cup until 2022 when they are letting 1000cc twins & 800cc triples in to compete. Kawasaki won their 1st race this year today. BSS is also adopting the new regulations. What are the regulations? Cant find any detailed stuff on the net, one assumes that teams would know the regulations as we are nearing the end of November and racing kicks off 15th April for BSS and February(tbc) PI Australia for WSS.

Bautista only .5 down on Reddings superpole time at Jerez. I'm guessing he'll win some next year but will fall a few times.

I think that the rules for WSB and WSS300 have worked out reasonably well over the past few years, so i can't see this being too much of a problem; world wide, I think that the 600SS market is pretty much dead, so something has to be done if they wanted to keep the "middle weight" class .

It took a while for WSBK & WSS300 especially to get fairly balanced, although WSS300 top 5 are all Kwacks, & 8 of top 10. BSS is also changing to this format as well. I suspect 1 brand will dominate in WSS & BSS as well. For BSS, will the Ducati cup old boys club switch class?

The "good" thing about WSB rules (from a spectator's point of view) is that any manufacturer that seems to have an advantage gets it removed to equal up the field. As long as the rules stay that way we will see great racing.
We will of course also see that people discredit wins like Toprak's this year due to it being "only because Kawasaki had 500rpm taken off the redline".
If I'm honest I think its a bit shit really too. The rev limits should be fixed at road going homolgation bike redline + x% so that the organisers aren't seen to be "meddling" with the results during the course of the season.
If I was a Rea / Kawaski fan boy I would probably not be happy with the 2021 result either.

I think earlier balancing rules were if Kawasaki ran away with it all same format in-line 4's were handicapped, which didnt help the likes of BMW. Its not just the engine which won the title. Kawasaki's rev limit was the same as the year before. They tried to get the extra 500 rpm for 'new' bikes by updating an insignificant number of parts, as Scott Smart decided. Quite right too, Kawasaki were trying it on, as always. I do agree the limit should be road bike red limit + an allowance. Didnt they have that as well at one point? Is that the current starting point before they add on extras for brand new bike syndrome. The problem there is manufacturers start having RRRRRRRR versions with inflated rev limits an bits and pieces.
Will Yamaha get an updated rev limit now Toprak has won, penalising all Yamaha independent teams as well? Thats the problem with balancing rules, in the end they penalise success but if you dont have them there will be runaway winners. I dont think its the same as prototype racing like MotoGP as WSB has a much smaller budget. After all, its supposed to be a series based on street bikes.

Poor old Johnny Rea. Signed to Kawasaki for another 2 years. I wonder if he's been promised an actual new 'new' bike? I'm guessing Toprak and Bautista would veto those moves so that didn't leave him much anyway.
