hmm. looks fúcking smart though. for tree-fiddy i got the silencer and pig-tail link pipe delivered from italy. if it's good enough for big H, it's good enough for me. the welding is excellent. so neat. i've seen them with screws but mine had a nifty circlip holding the baffle in so that's easily whipped out. the equivalent akro or yoshi, you're adding another two hundred easy. probably another five on yours. The prices here are on another level - I dont know why. Yeah import and tax maybe but still... A full SC system with fitting is around 4k USD. The full on top of the range Akro with fitting is north of 6k

Changed jobs recently, got 30 minute blast up motorway and it was hell on the KTMsm, it was like being a windsock twice a day, plus I also got fed up with chain maintenance and the fuel costs, KTM chews more fuel than my car. Had my eye on one of these for a long time, couldn't justify the cost. Then one came up, Cat N, f**ck all damage (BMW repair costs write bikes off very easily) only €6K with 16k miles. Bit of a bargain and its the last Motorsports model with Akkro, rearsets and the lightweight wheels, Got the panniers thrown in and they cost €500/set. Not too worried about it being slightly tatty, I ride every day in all weathers so put a lot of depreciation into bikes. Was considering a K1000SX but they are way more money and more thirsty, chain too. Big old bus but really stable, deceptively fast. Think Beefus once had one.

My mate has the exact same bike Armstrong. Is your loud by default? Not at the exhaust but a loud engine? I'm convinced his is once the verge of death. I've got a semi-loud exhaust and his is standard and his bike was way louder than mine on tickover.

Clutch makes a racket, it's a weird semi-dry design and there is a lot of vibration at certain revs, really smooth at 120mph though, which is a bit of a problem for my license. BMW set them up a bit weak for emissions and apparently a re-map kills a lot of the vibration and fixes the hunting at idle which probably contributes to the noise. They need good oil as well.

He's done 55k in 3 years on it and always gets it BMW serviced. Think he holed the radiator somehow but that's about it for the repairs. You should get some mileage out of it!

That's good mileage without major issues, BMW's build quality has been very patchy of late, I've heard of the K series needing clutches and radiators at less than 20K. I've 4 teenagers to feed so I'll be staying away from BMW dealers. Smarmy Robdogs

Yep, I did have a K1300S, with Akro....loved it. Didn’t have any issues apart from the odd recall. The starter switch doesn’t like direct hot sunlight so push the start button and nothing happens. I got mine replaced. There was also a recall for the fuel system up around the tank area...can’t remember exactly what but easy to find out online. Have you got the HP dash?....for extra coolness points! Great bike, fast as fuck and handles well for a big long bike and comfy too.....50mpg no problem. And yeah, the engine does sound like there’s a load of screws rattling inside it....call it character!! I was waiting for BMW to make a K1600S but, sadly....not to be. P.S. Rear brake started to lock onto the disk...new slave cylinder required...but APART from that!!!....great bike Attachments:

Cheers mines the last of the model line so I think all the recall issues have been sorted, That dash is serious bling, I'd love one but its 1.5-2K as a retrofit even now. I've a couple of other more important bits of bling to spend me cash on. spotted a full Akro exhaust system for sale, gets rid of the cat and together with a remap makes the whole thing run way better and cooler too. Got some riser plates on way to make it turn faster. Its comfy only at speed, the bars are killing my wrists, over 100mph its fine because wind pressure balances weight on my wrists. Need to fix this issue first or I'll lose me license, there is a 120kmh limit here (75 mph) the comfort zone is approaching the ban zone.

Guarda have a non-pursuit policy with bikes Armie. Crack on.
Nice bikes you jammy cunts. I looked at a Triumph Thruxton R today and got unexpectedly aroused at its sexy retro allure. I keep moaning about the 'Blade being too fast for the road but not sure I'm ready for a drop in power...

The KTM was an absolute weapon around town but there's nothing like the rip of a high HP bike. Juvenile I know but I so enjoy showing dicks in Audi's what proper speed is. Keep the blade.

Aye keep the blade I say. To quote Nicky Hayden "horsepower is my friend". I'm in new territory. Its not Audi's where I am now its Chevy Camaros and Dodge Challengers. They are two a penny but its clear their drivers think they are the fastest man made things that exist.
