I know. I've had my car remapped so it's kicking out 600nm of torque and 270hp. Overwhelms the tyres from low speed but overtaking is blistering and I can still get 40mpg on the motorway. Still, compared to any bike its sluggish at best.
I'm still stuck in gottabeasportsbike mode. It's a head thing. The Triumph is more than quick enough for any cunt. I'm just not sure I'm ready for motorcycle menopause.

Think you did the right thing taking the cash. I'd have done the same I reckon.
I agree about the motorbike menopause too. I just can't leave sports bikes either. I was prepared to step down in bhp to a Triumph 675R but then the cheap Gsxr jumped out at me.
What I have got clear in my mind is that when I do leave sports bikes behind, the replacement will still have to have a fairing. I have no desire to use my body as a parachute.

That's the biggest drawback with the Triumph. It definitely needs a screen. And lower bars. And another 40hp. And a Repsol paint job...

I think fairings are a must in this country. After I was done with trackdays & sportsbikes, I bought a Yam XJR1300, naked muscle bike. Higher bars, lower pegs, comfy seat, engine with relaxed power delivery, perfect, except lack of wind protection even with a small screen. It kept the speeds down, but in the end it was a real pain in rain. So after 7 years I got a Yam Fazer8 with 1/2 fairing. I had a Street Triple at one point. I bought it for shorter trips to events nearby or Sunday afternoon rides type of thing. It was so much fun I tried touring on it. The most annoying thing with that was the high level twin cans next to the seat. Try putting luggage on those. Throw over panniers were a no-no. Even if you found some with heat protection they would stick out too much and make you as wide as a bus. Even strapping a bag on the seat and you had to be careful, so I bought a rack & tailpack.

I don’t know why Triumph persist with this high level exhaust design....my mate had a Speed Triple but ditched them for a conventional 3 into 1 system....looks way better.

I quite like the looks of the underseat pipes but aye, they can't be very practical or do too much for the handling. I felt it had a touch of understeer about it. Losing some weight high up at the back would go some way towards addressing that.

Yep, you’re definitely suffering from that well know virus, Sportsbike-itus......it’s quite common.....there is a cure but it’s entirely voluntary.

It's not higher bars that my advancing years crave, it's lower pegs. I'm used to crouching over the tank and it feels more natural when I'm barreling into a corner. And I do like barreling. Ultimately, 175hp is meaningless unless you're on a track but it's certainly nice to have that reserve. A fat, torquey midrange makes a lot more sense. I'm just not sure I'm ready for sense. Sounds like what you need is a 1299 Panigale. Although dressing it up in Repsol colours would be pure sacrilege, dont even think about it. Anyone on here had the pleasure of riding one of these things? Or any Panigale for that matter. I'm desperate to try one.

Noodle, where do you ride in Scotland?.....I returned to Scotland and lived in Edinburgh for a couple of years in the early noughties and I really miss the ease with which you can ride for a short distance and be on great roads with limited traffic. And after doing the NC500 last year I have a new found appreciation of the beauty and awesomeness of my home country!

Cheers Neil, not really what I'm after.
So update is that I'm still waiting for money. The cunt has asked for some time due to the difficulties caused by coronavirus. Fair enough, it's fucked things up for every cunt but I've still got a damaged bike in the garage that he's liable for. What do I do? Wait 2 months to find out his business hasn't survived and then try to explain to my insurance company why I haven't told them earlier?
So I've given him a deadline of CoB Monday. If the cash isn't in my account then the insurance can deal with it. I don't think that's unreasonable. In fact, I think I've been extremely patient with him.

Cunt wants to meet me to square me up in cash. Not the best solution but I've decided to go with it and get it banked at my earliest opportunity.
