Typical game of 2 halves. Clarke must have roasted them at half time. Brilliant 2nd half performance and the lad VAR did good. Israel constantly tried to buy fouls and to be honest the crowd probably lifted the team to keep going to the death. Very pwoud

I hate VAR with a fucking passion but it worked well tonight. Gilmour and Patterson look like excellent prospects and John McGinn is becoming a legend. Even David Turnbull cannae get a game the now.
We're very strong in midfield but need better strikers and Craig Gordon won't last forever, as much as I'd love him to ❤

Fucking result for Eddie the Bastard's Brighton yesterday. Back of the net. Liverpool at Anfield, jerseys for goalposts, isn't it!
Meanwhile we stopped the rot of 4 straight defeats yesterday by injecting covid on the team bus and getting the match cancelled. Result!!

Mate at work stays a couple of houses up from Archie Knox. He had Sir Alex and Richard Gough in his street today ahead of Walter Smith's funeral. Top fitba' star spotting.
Unclear if he ran out for a selfie.

Steven Gerrard being widely quoted for the Aston Villa gig. In 3 years at Rangers he's managed to win one trophy out of a possible nine with the biggest budget in the league.
Give him some credit though, at least he's had a hand in returning Rangers to their previous lofty position of being cunt deep in debt.

A stepping stone towards the Liverpool job. Nothing else.

A stepping stone towards the Liverpool job. Nothing else. But he's not really shown any signs that he's good enough. He won the league at a canter last season but Celtic had imploded and nobody else had a budget that came close. Calum Davidson won the cup double in his rookie year at St Johnstone last season. Rangers will have individual players on more money than St Johnstone's entire playing budget so who achieved more? This season, Rangers are currently top of the league but not by much. Celtic are in a transition/rebuilding season and nobody else has a budget that comes close. Rangers should be kilometres ahead and they're not. I've nothing against Steven Gerrard and I actually think that his presence in Scotland has been positive for Scottish football but I really don't think that he's achieved much despite having a relatively large budget to do so and I just don't understand the interest in him.

Yes but it is his destiny.

£4.5m compensation. The Rangers board will have helped him on with his jaicket while phoning his taxi to the airport.

Judging by the state of the accounts 4.5 m will hardly plug the gap. Gerard spent loads and they are in the shit again. My heart bleeds. Next manager will probably be a cheaper version. Hope they implode, we play them in the semi in a couple of weeks.

Incredible night for Scotland. A few records set now and comfortably beat a very good Danish side.
Easy to be full of what ifs. If we'd played like that from the start of the competition we could have...etc.
However, Steve Clarke promised improvement and that's exactly what he's delivered. Tonight's performance was outstanding, from absolutely every cunt in a Scotland shirt. Still got two tough games ahead to have a chance of reaching Qatar but the challenge now will be consistency.
In the past we've had some outstanding individual players however I don't think I've ever seen a better Scotland team.

Great win, glorious failure awaits in the playoff final!

I think that the days of glorious failure are behind us. Should we reach the final, we could be facing the likes of Italy, Portugal or Russia. There's no shame in losing out to one of those however if we can maintain the performance of last night then we have a chance.
Got a semi first though (fnarr) and that won't be easy.

Football is a fickle world. A lot of so called fans were calling for Steve Clarke's head after defeat away to Denmark, questioning tactics and a back 3 formation. He stuck to his guns and has moulded a spirit and made the team entertaining but tight. Brilliant performance last night but looking at the possible opposition in the play offs it will take another gear to qualify. At least now you actually think we are in with a decent chance.
