www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-61083402BJ is a fuckin disgrace. I was wondering why Sunak appeared so open about his tax and financial interests recently, asking to be investigated by the relevant government body. Trying to get some brownie points knowing this was coming. His wife Akshata Murty has come in for some stick, but she has now said she will pay UK income tax on her Indian earnings, even though she wasnt doing anything illegal. I assume this is in addition to tax paid to Indian coffers. TBH I had no issue with her paying Indian tax on Indian earnings, as she paid £30,000 PA to UK, pays income tax on her UK earnings. She holds an Indian passport, she isnt British. I would expect tax to be paid to the UK coffers from people living outside the UK owning companies like Costa Coffee, MacDonalds operating in the UK. I wonder if Tories like JRM (or any other MPs) will follow suit, and pay tax on all their income held in tax free havens? Bet they fucking wont. I think it goes a bit deeper than that. Non-dom status is a choice. She is married to a UK government minister but claiming that her permanent home is in India. It has also been reported that until relatively recently, he held an American green card which means that he is claiming he will return to America to live. So which is it? India or America or do they plan to split up? Or are they maybe just telling lies to avoid paying tax while living here at taxpayers expense and being responsible for the rules that they are exploiting? Also, and this is significant, what is a government minister's salary? £150k? Why would a billionaire want a job that pays that kind of money? Because it gives him the power to oversee the regulations that affect his wealth. Fucking corruption just seeps right through these cunts and we just expect it of them now.

She isnt claiming that her permanent home is India. Its all above board. She pays India taxes on her Indian income, and UK taxes on her UK income. Its not like Rossi telling the Italian treasury he was living in London to avoid paying income tax in Italy (when actually he wasn't but thats beside the point). The green card issue is something for the Americans to worry about, not us. Why does anyone want to become an MP or minister? They could earn more outside of politics. From reading this, its not clear if he has declared all his interests or if he has changed tax laws to benefit his other financial interests. Hopefully he does get investigated thoroughly. www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/apr/10/from-non-dom-to-green-card-questions-still-facing-rishi-sunak

Why does anyone want to become an MP or minister? They could earn more outside of politics. For too many of them the reason that they can earn more outside of politics is because they are in politics in the first place. Get paid a high value retainer to attend a board meeting once a month. Oh, and see if you can't cast some influence to the company's benefit in the corridors of power. It's corruption, pure and simple.

Local elections in less than 4 weeks time; any candidate with a blue rosette must surely be shitting it.
I wonder if the Daily Mail et al have a cunning plan to save their day.

All those stories that used to be in the press about "failing schools"; generally, secondary schools in poorer areas.
I propose that the most failing school in the UK is Eton; while your average shithole comprehensive might produce a few low-level scallys, Eton imbues a succession of mediocre humans with an overgrown sense of their own importance who go on to damage entire nations.

I don't understand the narrative that its not a good time to change PM. Its a relatively easy time to be a PM when all countries are united against Putin. Johnson ain't being outstanding, just average.
Everyone knew what he was a helmet so no excuses but all the blame on the party members that made him their leader. This clusterfuck is on them.

Johnson ain't being outstanding, just average. Convenient excuse. First it was "wait for the report", then it was "wait for the police investigation" and since they've both expired it's the reliable standard "now is not the time." He needs to go. We're not involved in a conflict. There is no excuse. He lied and fucking lied and he's still lying. The Tories need to fucking grow a pair.

But the word on my street is that all potential replacements are going to get the same fines. Hopefully Truss gets on or else we are fucked.

At least it seems exposure to monkey pox is limited unless you're on a man to man mission.
