No Country For Old Men is definitely in my top ten favourite films. The ending is just him reflecting on his (he is doing this throughout the film from the first minute his narration is heard) career and life and deciding that this is indeed No Country For Old Men.

I've just watch Midnight Run from 1998 with Robert De Nero. Really liked it. A bit 'caper' but a good script and fine performances. No tits.

Watched Road on amazon prime yesterday. Documentary by BBC Northern Ireland about the Dunlop family. It was mesmerising at times and clearly going to end in tragedy but it made compelling viewing. I met Joey in his bar at the NW200 just months before he died. We had befriended a few locals as we had been drinking in Joey’s every night for a week and we got invited to stay for a lock in after the racing. Joey was different man amongst his friends and with a few drinks in him. Great memory. In the film Joey’s death was tragic but when his brother Robert died and Michael raced and and won two days later in tribute to his dad has to be one of the most emotional moments ever in sport. No spoiler to say the film ended there but William’s death was still to come. Made me cry.

Road is more depressing that The Road which is saying a lot.
I found it depressing as the Dunlop sons didn't seem to display their love of the sport in the fashion many do. You can tell Guy Martin and others are in it for the buzz but the Dunlops said it but it seemed more like something they were doing because they were simply compelled to their fates.

Yesterday I watched Eden,a story in subtitles about a French DJ. No frills, no car chases but a couple of pairs of tits and plenty of decent background musics. I liked it. Then I started watching Lincoln. I'm not sure I'll finish it.
Film4 for me as you can see.

Watched 'Wild Target' on the weekend starring Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt, Rupert Grint and Martin Freeman. A fun, 2010 movie about a hitman developing an infatuation after taking a job to "off" a con artist/thief. Worth a watch if you like dead pan British humour, a bit of slap stick and sit-coms. I don't recall any norks, but Emily Blunt looked hot on more than one occasion.

This is pretty fucked up if you've never seen it. Real rock n roll lifestyle. Can't imagine this sort of stuff from modern boy bands.

I watched the recent Dad's Army on Friday evening. It was much better than I thought it would be. I really liked it.

I have now watched The Drop. It must have been one of James Galdofini's last films. Well worth a watch.
