A memorable day for me was 21st May 2016. Venue Hampden Park where the mighty Hibs beat the Rangers 3-2 to win the Scottish cup for the first time in 114 years. Never thought I’d see the day. 😊😊 And it's always much, much sweeter when you pump one of the bigot brothers in the final. For me it was the 1991 cup final. Dundee United managed by Jim McLean vs Motherwell managed by his brother Tommy. Every pundit condemned it as a non event before a ball was even kicked because there was no old firm involved. Scotrail had laid on a train from Motherwell to Hampden but a mile down the line some cunt pulled the emergency cord. The guard went mental, called us all "fucking animals" and booted us off the train! We all had to troop back along the tracks to Motherwell where it became a whacky races of taxis, cars and buses to get to Hampden. We listened to the start of the match on the radio and it was 1-0 by the time we got in. 2nd half we went 3-1 up but our goalie, Ally Maxwell had been injured and played on with concussion and double vision. United pulled it back to 3-3 at the final whistle taking it into a nerve shredding extra time. We scored early on but near the end a United rocket looked goal bound and through the sea of heads in front of us we saw the paw of Maxwell rise up to palm the ball over the bar. FT 4-3 to Motherwell. From a non event to what is now regarded as one of the best cup finals ever. The bittersweet aspect was 18 year old Phil O'Donnell who scored one of our goals and went on to have a successful career before returning to Motherwell as many players have. The last game I saw him play was the one in which he collapsed and died from an undiagnosed heart condition. Again memorable but for all the wrong reasons. Great post El Noodle. I remember it well. Brilliant final. Like you i love it when the ugly sisters aren’t involved.

Early stand out memories......George Best absolutely taking the piss out of England in a home international game, sitting on Scarbrough beach listening to the races at Olivers Mount MV & Phil Read era' My first race meeting at Donington 78 when Hailwood went round in a Heli before his Race, I was like, Hailwood never heard of him while around me the crowd was going mad at him. All the Liverpool European games when you had to wait for sportsnight to see them....early 70s. And finally my cousin coming to tell dad how his games went when he played for Newcastle United early to mid 60s.

There are so many
Was really into gp since Eurosport started and was a rooting for Reinhold Roth in the 250's. Was sick when he crashed in to the slow rider. Very sad.
Mansell's 2nd at Monaco. He was so drained he couldn't even get out of the car. Don't know why, just moved me. Think he really dug deep and that sometimes means more than a win.
McWillians putting the KR3 Proton on pole at PI. Goosebumps
Romørens 239 meters at Planica in skiflying (he is battling cancer now :-( )
