Maybe I'm misunderstanding what I read but it seems Ferrari's summer form was down to them 'accidentally' leaking oil from a cooler into the cylinders which apparently then improved the mixture. A bit like Droog's Vauxhall but a F1 version.
They made a big deal about F1's green credentials but now it seems they are about as green as a 500cc 2 stroke. Someone reported Verstappen's car smoking as well.
Fuck all this battery and electric nonsense just got back to V12s if you're going to be like a 2 stroke anyway. Fuck the environment, Greta Thunberg's got that.

With my sport button deployed, I'd fuck all over that shitty F1 car no bother. Decat manifold is ordered!

No idea. Obviously the car will run much better but it might need mapping and some skulduggery to avoid the emissions sensor creating an EML warning.

Just spotted this thread. Used to work with an ex-ferrari & McLaren engineer, occasionally he'd let slip some of the cheating that was going on in FI. Oil was one, and it's been going on for some time. Essentially fuel flow is very tightly monitored so they can't get any more fuel in without being caught out. What was going on in qualifying was (accidently!!) allowing engine oil past the rings and burning that. Worth a fair few extra horses apparently.
