He was definitely a groundbreaking guitarist. Sadly their first couple of albums were the only ones worth listening to and after DLR left they went a bit pish.
Never saw VH live but I saw DLR and that was quite a show.

Hagar never had the same impact or presence. Even the first DLR album was ok, ever decreasing returns soon after though.
Pretty sure Dr Rockzo was a take on DLR.

RIP EvH.....one of the first albums I bought as a youngster...Van Halen 1....saw them twice, the first time at Newcastle City Hall in 1979, my first time seeing a live band, superb.
