About 12 years ago I was walking through Dublin airport on a Monday morning. At some point I realised that the huge cunt walking in front of me was Jack Charlton. Him and his companion were walking quite slowly. I slowed down so I didn't pass him. Just walked behind him drinking in his presence. And he had a presence. Some boy so he was.

That's no age. Hopefully he knew nothing about it.

Aye some boy was Jack, after that game against the dirty Argies at Wembley in the 66 World cup he had to be held back from the Argie changing rooms, he wanted to sort out Rattin. Also had a great scoring ratio for club & country, a goal every 7 games or thereabouts, good going for a centre half. The word Legend sits well on him.

Peter Green. Not a massive blues fan but I could listen to early Fleetwood Mac all day. Never saw him live but clocked him one day in Glasgow about 25 years ago shuffling along the street with 2 cunts helping him. Must have still been in his 40s. Real shame. Incredible talent.

Fleetwood Mac was essentially his band but he didn't want his name front and centre so they took the band name from Mick Fleetwood and John McVie.
Some of that early music was just outstanding. Man of the World is probably my favourite track from that period but when you dig into the lyrics it's a massive cry for help.

Erick Morillo anyone?
His influence on music is undoubted, was he as big a cunt as all this is making him look?
He was a close friend of Fonsi Nieto from his Ibiza days by all accounts...

Just found out Linda Manz died last month. She was only 58. Probably best known for her role in Out of the Blue as Cebe but to me she will always be Peewee in the The Wanderers.

Alan Minter. Only 69. Don't want to be a dick but liked a drink so no surprise he went early.
