Back in the early 90's I used to go to the Alexandra Palace motorcycle road racing show every year. Was always around Jan or Feb time. Chris used to do these motorcycle racing quizzes to a large crowd on the main stage with various guests helping. You could win some pretty decent prizes like tickets to BSB, WSB, GP race weekends or books, videos, race clothing etc. I used to win so much stuff every year that after a couple of years Chris banned me from entering. Not in a nasty way just so others could get a chance on the prizes. I got around this by sitting slightly away from whoever came with me that year and telling them the answers. He twigged onto that eventually. Back then I was better than google when it came to motorcyle racing trivia. Was a decent bloke and one of many well nourished British motorcycle journalists of that era.
