Rumoured to be back as soon as the nexy round according to the Eurosport commentary. Who would they have as a rider/riders? Only one I can think of is the lad who was Laverty's team mate last year. Can't remember his name.

Davide Giugliano or Lorenzo Savadori.
I hope that they run GSX-R1000Rs.

Be funny if they rocked up with Ducatis.

Another couple of riders would be good, I think there was only 18 on the grid last weekend.

This paragraph from that article tells me whats wrong with WSB, supposedly a race a street bike series. At first, Yamaha Racing was reluctant in building another YZF-R1 for the World Superbike championship, a competition where they already have four bikes running, with the PATA Yamaha WorldSBK team and the GRT Yamaha team, with both teams getting official support from the Japanese manufacturer. A fifth R1 would place Yamaha Racing in big stress, an stretch their resources to the max, but Dorna was able to convince Yamaha Racing how important the link with Ten Kate will be.Unless you have a massive budget to run a special limited edition version of a normal bike with full factory support, don't expect to be competitive.

Good point Phil. If MotoGP still had open rules with regards to the ECU, EMU etc, WSB would have gone down BSB's route years ago IMO.

Shame, I would have liked to have seen a Suzuki in the field.

I don't really follow sports bikes anymore, is a Gixxer still a top bike in terms of racing one? Honda isn't with WSB rules.

The GSX-R did OK in BSB last year with Bradley Ray and I believe that it has been successful in the AMA (Tony Elias?), but beyond that I don't know.
