Oh dear those mouth breathing gammon racist knuckle draggers that didn’t know what they were voting for have dropped the country right in the shit, with manufacturing forecasts at their highest since records began.
I particularly like this bit:
“total new orders grew at their quickest pace since 1974. This reflected domestic orders expanding at their fastest rate on record (since 1975), and the first rise in export orders since January 2019” Fucking Xenophobes dragging us kicking and screaming to a better economy. Bastards.

I can't help noticing that when there is some positive news about Brexit, it all goes quiete in here and other places that are dominated by the pro EU lot.
Obviously the remainers don't fear Britain failing! They are actually hoping Britain fails.

I can't help noticing that when there is some positive news about Brexit, it all goes quiete in here and other places that are dominated by the pro EU lot. Obviously the remainers don't fear Britain failing! They are actually hoping Britain fails. That article you posted about is the recovery from covid not Brexit. www.cbi.org.uk/articles/sector-focus-manufacturing-sector-july-2021/“Record growth in manufacturing output volumes is further evidence that UK industry is reawakening following the economic ravages of the pandemic. Demand is rising rapidly, leading businesses to hire more staff and plan further investment in plant & machinery and training. Encouragingly, manufacturers expect further record output growth in the coming quarter.
“Yet other challenges lie ahead. Acute staff shortages evident across the economy are biting deeply within manufacturing, with skills in short supply and the number of people isolating climbing steeply.
Output dropped dramatically due to covid and businesses closing down, staff on furlough. Once they opened again the rate of growth must have shot up dramatically from next to fuck all to getting back towards where it was. I was talking to the watersports shop owner and he said all the imported stuff has been hit by covid, not many new windsurf boards coming in. Canoes are made in England, like Pyranha Canoes in Runcorn, but they dont have the raw materials to make canoes as those are imported. So he cant get any canoes either. Hopefully things will get back to normal, but its not just the UK which has to gets it's production back to 100% or better of what it was its other countries. The article also mentioned the rise in costs. Because not much was shipped out from the Far East, the demand for shipping has gone up, and also the price. Nothing to do with Brexit, its Covid.

Does that mean the number of orders since January 2019 has been falling month to month, but now that decline has stopped and the orders are now going up? Rate of growth in orders since 1974 as per previous post. Lots of companies shut down so few orders, now orders are flooding in.

It’s the forecast for training home grown skills that is the biggest factor! Home grown means money staying in the UK and not being sent abroad to keep up families living in Romania for example, with top up benefits being exported to.
This is not down to Covid, this down to having to face the reality that we need to get people off of their arses or courses that lead to a degree in ‘Harry fucking potter’ or ‘Sports fucking psychology ‘ and teach real skills to those that are willing and also those cunts that are not willing.

Wish I'd done Harry Potter studies at Uni. I could have opened one of those wizard shops that are everywhere in York.
My mate did History of Art and Film at uni. Spent 3 years watching films, got unless degree, become cinema manager, got bored, went to study law and now spends his weekend dealing with fuckwits who need a solicitor because they smashed up the local McDonalds.

That could have been done while we were still in the EU. It wasnt the unelected-bureaucratic-EU-Brussels-4th Reich-French forcing our hand with our university courses, what our youngsters chose to study, what job ambitions they have. It is all up to us. If Romanians do the lower paid jobs the UK wont do, then put the wages up, (higher end cost for us consumers), fill those jobs with UK people then there wont be an opportunity for anyone else. Benefits changed under Cameron in 2016 so that Romanians could only claim what they would have received in Romania. But lets not go into circular arguments again. Back to that article you claimed was about Brexit but was about Covid consequences. www.cbi.org.uk/articles/sector-focus-manufacturing-sector-july-2021/The share of firms citing orders or sales as a factor to limit output next quarter fell to its lowest since 1974 (42%). However, the proportion of firms citing materials/components (56%), skilled labour (36%) or plant capacity (31%) as limiting factors stood at its highest since January 1975, July 1974, and January 1974, respectively. So the previous highest peak of skilled labour shortage was pre-EU membership, and now has returned to its highest peak since then, post EU membership with Brexit. I see, I see. Nah, thats because of Covid as well, combined with Brexit as people have returned to the EU and stayed put. I've always thought it would take 10 years or so to see if we have gained or lost. We do need to train up people with proper skills rather than wishy washy nonsense, but that will take time.

I'm done with this thread, unless some positive news comes along which is actually as a result of Brexit, and not some unrelated news with spin.

This bit is where we do agree, and to me it is the big picture.

Blame Cameron for going for the UKIP vote! I do. And May for pressing the button and Johnson for... the list is too long. In hindsight Neil, do you feel you were well enough informed prior to voting and if you knew then what you know now, would you have voted the same way and if so, why? Not looking for a bun fight, I'm genuinely interested. It's easy for people who voted remain to point at the mess and say "I told you so" but I'd like to hear the views of a non-flag-shagging-racist leaver on the consequences of their vote and whether they still think it's a good idea. TBH, neither side really did themselves any favours and there seemed to be too much bullshit being flung around, so I don't think that there was enough info available being presented by both leavers or remainers; this was over 5 years ago and these days I feel lucky if I can remember what I've had for breakfast, but I can remember spending a lot of time in the evenings after work reading everything that I could. My gut feeling then, as it is now, is that our ties were too close and restrictive with the EU; I think that the UK will probably come out ahead of where we would've been had we stayed in, but that's at least 10 years from now. Short term pain, followed by (hopefully) long term gain. So,yes, I would still vote leave. I took a bit of time to think about this before replying, so I apologise for the delay!

I don't believe that everyone who did is some rabid far-right racist Not everyone who voted for Brexit is a racist but you can bet the hole in your arse that everyone who is a racist voted for Brexit and so far it's the economic disaster that remainers predicted. The fishing industry was fucked overnight, farming is hot on its heels, Northern Ireland is a clusterfuck, the government is having to bribe car manufacturers not to leave. So far the only winners are the "send-em-all-back" brigade. "Not everyone who voted for Brexit is a racist but you can bet the hole in your arse that everyone who is a racist voted for Brexit" You really do need to get booked into rehab.
