Is that idea still beig banded about in the UK then? From this side of the channel it seems like May is trying to brush it under the carpet... Brexit? What was that again? No doubt it will come back to bite her, and what could possibly have been a mitigated and controlled disaster will turn into a huge clusterfuck of an apocalypse... unless your name is Mason of course. String up the Union flag bunting and black up your faces for some Morris dancing!! Time to celebrate independance from the EU!! No change of mind from me Clipper and my reasons for saying this are still valid. The problem now is that most politicians in all parties don't want to leave the EU and are trying to thwart the will of the people. The strategy should have been leave the EU and then negotiate not negotiate before we leave. Read Yanis Varoufakis' book Adults in the room if you'd like to understand why. That is trade under WTO rules from day 1, most importantly don't listen to the propaganda or fearmongering, there's no justification for it

Will of the people. This is big laugh to me. All brexshitwats drag this out to try to add substance to a weak position. Here are some facts:
Brexitits like to make out the vote was some sort of landslide. It wasn't. It was a bawhair off 50:50. Half of UK is being dragged into a nightmare scenario they didn't want and just being told "suck it up loser". How is this anything but divisive?
If you look at advanced countries who don't have an imbecilic government, such a referendum involving such fundemental constitutional change would require certain conditions to be met such as 66% of the vote in favour of change. The entire referendum was only promised to appease the far right of the Tory party and ensure re-election for David Cameron. It was badly planned, badly executed and he ran away when it went wrong.
IT WAS AN ADVISORY REFERENDUM and in no way binding.
This may seem like a good idea for rich xenophobic retirees but lots of cunts will lose their jobs and the negative effect on an already fragile UK economy, teetering from a reckless austerity stranglehold, could last for generations.
It's a disaster unfolding but perhaps the worst of it is it's being driven by self serving politicians who only have their own careers at heart.
It will get much, much worse.

El Noodle, it wasn't an advisory referendum, Parliament had guaranteed to accept the result.
I disagree, the self serving politicians are the ones trying to keep the UK in the anti-democracy.
Employment is on the increase, markets are at record highs, the pound is stable. None of the catastrophes predicted have come anywhere near to happening. This is the best thing that has happened to the UK since we made the dreadful mistake of joining.
For anybody who believes we should stay in please give me one quantifiable benefit of being in the EU. In this respect, free trade with the single market is not a benefit, it costs us dearly.

Mason, these are the facts, London & south east is the only part of the UK where net income exceeds expenditure, the City is keeping UK PLC afloat. I've seen this coming since before Brexit vote as my sister in London works in high-end property and lettings. The arse has fallen out of that market because the banks and financial institutions have stopped sending people to London and it's been going on for over 3 years now. Iv'e a friend who works for Enterprise Ireland, he spent the last 10 years wining & dining heads of Pharma & Medical device companies, he's now doing the same for Bankers & Heads of financial institutions, Frankfurt and Paris are doing similar pitches. And it's not just the banking jobs that will go post Brexit, there's a huge support structure for the city with lots of high paid IT jobs. When the revenue from all that has gone how will the exchequer balance the books, public services have been cut to the bone theres not much left there. I suppose they could always raise taxes. Now there's an idea, that will work.

The UK's place is out of the shackles of the EU which is a dying empire anyway; our place is trading with the rest of the world not in managed decline with the anti-democracy of the EU. My only worry now is that we are giving to much away, we should have walked away with no deal from day one rather than allowing the unelected fascists to humiliate us.. As you say, there are real structural problems in the UK but they were there pre-Brexit and London is due a big correction property wise. Looks like the ethnic population is deserting London in droves.

So, any cunt still think Brexshit is good idea? Any cunt? Six months since the article was triggered and I suspect many on both sides would use the expression 'car crash' to describe progress.

Eddie, only because we are negotiating an exit deal before we leave. This is giving the remainers, who, like the EU, have no respect for democracy, an opportunity to reverse the result which was democratically decided. The UK is in a massively strong position and we should not be Kow Towing to the EU. Leave immediately and trade with the EU under WTO rules as we do with the USA and Canada. Did you know that to save 3% on WTO tariffs we pay 7% in EU contributions? How about giving EU states freedom to fish out UK waters after decimating the UK fishing industry? There is not one quantifiable benefit we get from being in the EU unless you are a politician. Outside of the EU we are a free country not an economic zone of the EU, not one vote in 28. We are one seat in the WTO not 1/28, we can forge our own trade deals rather than be in the protection block of the EU. When we joined, the EU accounted for 30% of world GDP and now it is 13% and falling. WTF would we want to be shackled to a corpse like that? Seriously, why?

Old people are fucking up this country for the young. The generations to come will rue the day they didn't turn out to vote.
There was no strategy before the referendum and fuck all now. Cunts.
Myself, i'm seriously considering moving abroad.

Employment on the increase? Shite employment aye. In work poverty is the worst it's been since Victorian times. Working cunts can't pay rent or bills and are using foodbanks to feed their kids. FUCKING FOODBANKS! It's 2017 and foodbank use has become normalised. Working people having to beg for food for fuck sake.
What else is on ths increase? Oh, homelessness. Also disabled cunts begging on the streets because "we're all in it together", don't forget that.
And let's nail this democracy pish too. 52% on a 72% turnout is 37% of the registered electorate voting in an ADVISORY referendum to drag the UK into this constitutional abyss. That is not democracy. More people were not on the electoral register than voted to leave the EU. This is not the will of the UK people, it's the will of xenophobic England.
Car crash is spot on. David Cameron kicked this off with no fucking clue to keep himself in Downing Street. Now Theresa Mayhem is keeping it going with no fucking clue to keep herself in Downing Street. Individual vanity and hubris is flushing the UK right down the shiter. The cunts should be done for tresson.

I would dress Cameron and Blair up as schoolboys and feed then to Cyril Smith. I didn't want to leave, but I believe we have to in the name of democracy.
