I seem to remember more about seasons 1984 to 1998 than I do about racing over the last ten years. 33. Catalano 19. Mackenzie 8. Mamola 17. Duhamel

As I recall, the Budweiser sponsorship on the Roberts run Mamola bike was a freebie. As in they never stumped up any cash despite promises made. Or maybe I am remembering that slightly wrong? 92 was a good year for British wildcards. Foggy, Whitham and Rymer (the top three superbike riders from Britain at that time) all got a run out or two on Harris Yamaha's. Donington 92 for the GP was one of my favourite meetings I ever attended.

31. Thierry Crine 18. Michael Rudroff 14. Dominique Sarron 32. Toshiyuki Arakaki 11. Eddie Laycock 26. Kevin Mitchell 15. Cees Doorakkers 22. Simon Buckmaster 24. Lucio Pedercini
John Reynolds rode for Padgetts in 1993 and 1994. Sarron and Arakaki rode the ROC Yamahas's in the Banco sister team to the Mackenzie and Duhumel pairing on the Yamaha France Banco bikes. As I recall, I think either Mackenzie or Duhumel tried out the ROC chassis at some point? Rainey switched from his factory Yamaha chassis to a ROC chassis mid season also but I think he reverted back to the updated official Yamaha chassis towards the end of the year.

I remember Bob McLean got shafted by Serge Rosset when Mackenzie tried out the 94 ROC, Niall was sure they had a factory engine fitted just for the tests but then fitted the standard motor back in every ones bikes. I think it was the Slick 50 team bikes that were pretty crap.

Kind of related, but didn't Hodgson get a factory bike from Team Roberts for Mugello in '95 and promptly stuck it on the front row?

Yes he did. Roberts got him the opportunity so that the team could help with tyre testing.
Serge had access to factory engines and as you said, Mackenzie and the team felt duped.
