Maybe they should have given Spain a swerve? Chose a neutral circuit, so no Italy. I think Portimao would have been the best bet.
I think Pecco will win the race but lose the championship. I'm guessing nobody will push matters with dangerous moves to get past the contenders at this point.Well Maybe Marquez won't be on Ducati's hit list if he took down Martin but I don't think he'll push too hard unless he's got a lot more pace.
Hopefully Aleix will count the laps down properly this time.

There is something about Ducati that gets on my tits, and it's not because there are so many on them (without Ducati, it would've been a pretty sparce grid this past few years in MotoGP): There's an arrogance about them that I just don't like! I can understand why they went with Marc Marquez for the factory team next year, but at the same time, Pramac is (was) supposed to be their feeder team for young talent! So, to not to take Martin was a slap in the face! |

I hope its an interesting weekend and not a damp squib of racing with Pecco falling off in FP1 and injuring himself or something stupid like that! (Could happen!)
Most people seem to have Martin down as the champ elect, but stranger things have happened...
Just hope it goes down to the Sunday race.

Ducati should have called Marquez's bluff, Pecco and Martin are the official team but we'll give you a 25 spec bike in the Gresini team, ours are the best bikes take it or leave it.
I really really hope the Aprilia shapes up next season for Martins sake.
It reminds me of how Alain Prost eased Nigel Mansell out of his williams drive when he'd just won the FI title.

Frank Williams was also a proper cunt when it came to it. I guess you need to be in that business.
I'm remembering Rossi/Hayden 2006 but I guess the gap was only 8 points then and we didn't have sprint races. I guess if Martin falls in race 1 it will really put the pressure on but otherwise I think he can handle it. Then again both have prone to odd unprovoked fall. Marquez is generally a pushing on faller.

The parallels are similar, but, as you say, both Bangnaia and Martin have made mistakes: Rossi lost in '06 due to inconsistences in his riding and with the bike/team, Hayden won due to a reliable bike, consistent riding and playing it safe when needed... ... The Camel Yamaha broke down a couple of times if i remember rightly, that's what cost Rossi the 06 title.
