As much as I enjoy MotoGP, we need Honda and Yamaha fighting for titles....not as also-rans. Maybe AEsp can help get HRC back up the ladder. With HRC, they need a complete shift in their culture and the way in which they design motorcycles! They have been lucky to have riders who can adapt on the fly and ride around problems i.e. Doohan, Rossi, Stoner, Marquez etc. Pedrosa was a brilliant rider, but he proved to be extremely fragile, but the other team mates to the previously mentioned were "weak" riders IMO. Hayden and Criville were consistent and, IMO, were champions due to the circumstances surrounding their particular winning year. But with the 2027 rule changes it'll level the playing field a bit....850cc, minimal aero and no ride height devices.

Wow! 2 posts analysing HRC's problems and no mention yet of Alberto Puig!
How this guy has kept his job so long is a mystery second only as to how Morbidelli remains on a MotoGP bike.
Yes, HRC do need a change of direction, but the direction has to come from the works team principle. I'm sure there is a semi-valid argument that HRC don't listen to Puig, which may be true, so change him for someone who will be listened to! No need to have a Spaniard at the helm now that Repsol have jumped ship...

It might be different in Spain, where MotoGP is only second to football, where there are more in-depth stories?

So if Mir leaves we've got HRC seat, gresini seat and a Aprilia seat left? Did Digi get two years or one?

Don't forget 2 free Pramac seats.
According to Melandri (don't know why his opinion is relevant but his one-handed powerslide onto the home straight at PI has given him lifetime credibility), Pramac will be Yamaha from 2025, so who the hell will be riding those is a total unknown.
If they stay with Ducati, I guess the queue at the door will be considerably longer, but even if they are Yams, I'd still expect to see Miller and Mir knocking.

Mir to stay with HRC for two more years I wonder if Marini will go running back to his big brother's team, or is he staying put?

Mir to stay with HRC for two more years I wonder if Marini will go running back to his big brother's team, or is he staying put? He's under contract until end of 2025, I reckon he'll stay...take the cash and ride around at the back. I wonder where Aldegeur will end up?...If Pramac go with Yamaha that leaves 2 x VR46 and 1 x Gresini seat. Both Bezz and DiGi are out of contract end of '24, as is Morbidelli. Haven't heard any news about any renewals. P.S. He's not exactly setting the world on fire in M2 this season, Garcia being on nearly double the points in 1st.
