Seen a few views on twitter that Marquez has pulled off some sort of Game of Thrones level king making. How he's played people etc.
As far as I can see he came back, took a satellite ride, proved his worth and got it. Overtaking pecco at le man's probably sealed the deal. Then Martin falling off....

A few days ago Agostini referred to him as "Marc Marketing".
Domenicali pretty much confirmed that it was more of a marketing decision too.
Whether Martin would have been a better sporting choice or not is not relevant, the choice was made on one clear criteria. Good on them for being honest about it.

I never knew Marquez was such a mover until this years podium celebrations. Maybe he spent the last few years a Big Gay Dave's Disco School?

There had been talk of Iannone back to MotoGP. I wonder....

There had been talk of Iannone back to MotoGP. I wonder.... He had supposedly been offered a satelite Yamaha bike as far as I can remember... Given that those bikes now appear to have been a fairytale, I guess that's fallen flat on its face. Or maybe not, who knows?

Its just been published in the news here that the contract Jorge Martin was ready to sign for Ducati already included a clause which was that he would go to the Lenovo team as long as Marc didn't win the championship this year with Gresisni, but if Marc did win, Jorge would have to stay in Pramac and let Marc go to Lenovo.
Jorge had accepted this, but then Ducati backed out and said they wanted to review more clauses, hence the signing with Aprilia.
It seems clear that they were always favouring Marc over Jorge.

I see that several press articles today have picked up on the fact that Pramac haven't actually signed with Ducati yet...
One (at least) has even pointed out that LCR hasn't confirmed with HRC yet, so the extra Yamahas are still theoretically possible.

It's a tough call given JM's form....but it's definitely spiced things up for next year.

Yeah I think Ducati thought they'd rather get him on side rather than lose him to Aprilia which is winning races with two riders clearly a level below Marquez. I think Marquez could win right now on that Aprilia. Possibly even the KTM.

We now appear to be reaching "really f'ing stupid season" with Dovi now stating that he's up for a comeback.. Seriously?

I watched his interview, maybe he's talking about a comeback as a test rider. No way would he get a full time ride at 38, what would be the point?

Yeah, TBH I think its a bit of Dorna generated hype to keep media interest going after the Ducati saga has closed chapter 1.
He would be good for Yamaha maybe (HRC already have Aleix to help their future dev), nothing against Cal, but he is a bit "Stefan Bradl" isn't he?

This Crutchlow mania that accompanies a wildcard baffles me. Bro is on a Yamaha so won't do anything anyway. His time is also long past. Twitter will be full of daft comments like 'Cal - win or bin!!
As for Dovi. File under the same thing as Sebastian Vettel but not as good. Dovi is a bit of a Marc Webber.
At least we seem to have moved past Dorna thinking each viewing area needs a rider in Motogp so hopefully no Jake Dixon in GP or something daft.
