Could be a boring affair. Or maybe a weird one where someone like Gardner wins.

Good start by Gardner! I would like to see him make a positive mark in 2023, as by all accounts he was treated very by KTM in MotoGP; you get the impression that they didn't want him there, even though he won the Moto2 championship in 2021.

Scott Smart won't be able to tuned the R6 cup parameters though. Wonder why he got the boot?

Scott Smart won't be able to tuned the R6 cup parameters though. Wonder why he got the boot? Didn't I read somewhere that he had lost another family member at that Scott's mental health has declined recently? Maybe he stepped aside?

Looks like Redding hasn't yet told Saint Gerloff how shite the BMW is.

Looks like Redding hasn't yet told Saint Gerloff how shite the BMW is. He got the memo last night. He's bottom BMW now. Bautista at top. Rea making 'predictable' comments already. Rinaldi seems fairly quick but then again he ocassionally was last year.

On the rev limit for Kawasaki issue, where they had "500 rpm removed" when in fact they hadn't, they have a new official homologated model for this year. www.worldsbk.com/en/news/2023/UNVEILED%20homologated%20motorcycles%20for%20WorldSBK%20classes%20in%202023?fbclid=IwAR0mxkmRXRxkvBDjq6PzMTsTRK8UsWZfRqn1IM2EHY4aXD7aZFGKug9CARc2023 Rules and regs www.fim-moto.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Documents/2023/2023_SBK_SS_SS300_World_Championships_Regulations.pdf?t=1677147431Kawasaki have a new engine, so according to the rules in 2.4.2.1(g) there are some sums to do. g) For a new engine the initial rev limit will be either:a) The lower of:i) The RPM after the peak power at which the engine produces90% of the peak power figure, + 3% (if applicable)ii) The RPM of the peak power + 700 rpmORb) The manufacturer may choose to continue with the current RPMby balancing (if the new engine maintains the same number ofcylinders). From the table in 2.4.2.3, I see Kawasaki chose to continue with 14,600, the same as before all the recent fuss which started in 2021. That wont stop all the Kawasaki fanboys saying we want our 500rpm back though. Forget the combined weight limit rule, this is the problem; I think its wrong for Ducati to have a road bike of 1100cc, power of 215.5hp at 13,000 rpm but the race bike has a special engine of 998cc with tuned engine and resulting rev limit of 16,100. Its Ducatis choice to have a 1100cc road bike (isnt 1000cc large enough?). Road bike rpm 13,000 +3% should be their limit, 13,700. Edit - Actually, it should be less than that, as revs at 90% of peak +3% is the lower.

I'm guessing the problem with road going bikes is now also emissions nonsense. At least with prototypes they only have to play to the series rules. With WSB it's sort of depending if the manufacturer want's to make a load of boutique specials? Is the limit still 2000 machines? There would have been a time 2000 specials would fly off the shelves but maybe not so much anymore?

The road bike is 1103cc, race bike 998cc, those are the 2023 rules linked to. The machine balancing of performance using concession points I didnt bother to look into. Fucking pages of it.
