Apparently the TEAMS have decided they don't want these pesky journos at the test and they are banned from Sepang. Everyone is banned from Sepang apart from the teams and personnel. Seems a bit stupid given the lack of interest in GP last year. I know, lets have even less coverage of it....oh no....we can't get sponsors.....why?
STUPID CUNTS.

Is Sepang a private test session or an DORNA/IRTA affair?

There are two Sepang tests, both are Dorna / IRTA.
5 - 7 Feb Shakedown test - No press at teams' request 10 - 12 Feb "Official" test with press

I think gp will implode unless we have an exciting year. I hate to admit it but there seems to have been a Rossi effect. Now Marc will probably never be peak Marc ever again we don't even have that.
Be interesting to see if Bags can bring in the crowds to Mugello. If not then it's not going to get any better.
WSB has way more potential for some good racing this year.

Its a bit odd. The only difference between the two tests is the riders... Testers and rookies in the first and racers in the second. Surely the bikees will be the same ones? Maybe some of the new dev is close to the line with respect to the rulebook and they don't want evidence available for complaints to be lodged?
But reall I reckon they don't trust the test riders comments if the journos ask them questions, let's be honest, some of them do speak their minds, *coughCrutchlowcough*

Love him, hate him, or "just whatever" him, Rossi brought in the crowds because of his youthful enthusiasm, personality and skill at the start of his GP career and not only with motorcycle racing fans! MM had/has all of that, but he is not universally liked because he was a threat to Rossi from the off and the "hate" from certain quarters kicked in, especially after Sepang 2015 with the "fanboi" fraternity! I honestly don't think that Pecco has the personality to bring back the "Rossi" crowds at Mugello or anywhere else where The Doctor was the main draw.

The crowds wont flock to Mugello until Ferrari drop their price for hiring the circuit. MotoGP wont suffer the same drop off in attendances that WSBK in the UK did after Foggy/JT retired. I'd guess that if you were to compare pre-Rossi to post-Rossi crowds the numbers would be a lot higher. I was at Donington to see Rossi's 1st 500cc podium and there were just 19,000 (for a wet weekend).

Wasn't Silverstone down to 35k from a peak 85k?

Attendance figures have probably been distorted by a number of things. Take WSB at Donington. Last year in a heat wave, 51,800 was the official weekend figure. I think that was accurate. The best UK attendance for years. I cant see any crowds being large this year due to cost of living factors. I've never bothered with Silverstone for MotoGP its over priced compared to WSB at Donington. If Dorna take the view of expecting fewer paying customers so put the price per head up to make the same amount of money then numbers will be way down. The Rossi-or-nobody fans wont be drawn back by higher prices.
For excellent grandstands, and if you are going pay the extra, just looked to places I've been to in the past who have announced their prices: Jerez X1 grandstand is €175, general admission €45 for a 3 day ticket. Goes up €5-10 later on. Mugello Poggio Secco is €240, general admission €140 for a 3 day ticket. Advance ticket, goes up to €300 & €190 after this weekend. Sachsenring T13 €205. Assen GT stand sold out, others €155-225 Montmelo 'H' €177 Valencia Verde €95
Dont expect a large crowd at Mugello this year.

Don’t think I’ll be going to any races as part of a trip in the near future, I’d rather enjoy being out riding and watching the race re-live back at the Hotel with a few beers!.

Moto GP does seem to be trying to kill itself.
In Spain you can't sign up to the MotoGP pass to watch the races (unless you have a VPN capable of staying ahead of the Dorna IP police) because legally DAZN are the exclusive rights holder.
When they started in 2019 it was 5€ / month, then 10€, then 13€.. this year its 18€.
The less people watch it, the more they put the price up. Not sure if that really works as a long term business plan.

MotoGP isn't petrol or food. People will give it a miss or just use stuff like zxy streams or whatever. I watched a lot of F1 on overtake fans as it's not worth any money to me so pirate streams only.
Seem not that long ago all this stuff was on terrestrial...except it probably was a long time ago.

They have signed a deal until end of 2027. www.motogp.com/en/news/2022/10/11/motogp-remains-exclusively-with-dazn-in-spain-until-2027/439913A new five-year agreement confirms DAZN as the home of the sport in Spain as audience figures continue to show incredible growth
...... with the number of unique users who follow the sport having increased by 62.1% from March 2019 to dateI think its funny them saying that when they take the base point as the 1st month it was launched. There would be loads of people who would wait a bit to see how it went before signing up. Jerez was in May that year. The subscription cost has gone up 360% for the same time period, they didnt mention that.

In the UK, MotoGP is on BT Sport. My cable provider gave me that channel as a freebee about 4-5 years ago after they mucked up some channels they provided. I didnt buy it when MotoGP left BBC for BT Sport from 2014. The coverage on BT Sport is far superior to the BBCs, probably the same as Eurosports used to be. On BT Sport I now follow the rugby and T20 Blast cricket. I've even been to a few rugby and T20 cricket matches following on from that. You wont attract new viewers to a sport by making it an expensive & exclusive subscription service.
