That looks good. Would you trust it?

I'd wait 6 months or so to see if anything came out in the wash.

I'd wait 6 months or so to see if anything came out in the wash. I'll go with a real world dyno run showing 45 bhp at the rear wheel. On a good day. 67bhp is cuckoo land.

Why buy Chinese and help support their economy and the way their 'government' rules the country.
I was thinking of buying a new camera recently and Panasonic and Fujifilm are off the list as the are made in China.
If I was after a bike it would be UK, European or Japanese.

Phil,
Most Triumphs are made in Thailand, cast your mind back to when Thailand's PM was elected.... oh no, that's rigt he wasn't!
Japan are financing projects in several East Asian countries including Myanmar.
If you want to make sure your motorcycle is coming from an ethically pure country you've got your work cut out.
I suppose at least Ducati only have the taint of the far right Meloni hanging over their brand.

That 400 can be made out of condensed child's blood as far as I'm concerned. I would seriously consider it as I love 400s and that 'bro, it's only a 400' thing when you hang with a 1000cc.
Like Spuu says though, it will probably end up 20hp down as the Chinese bikes have a thing for over-egging the pudding with horsepower claims.

Mekon just go oldschool 400 if possible. Get a tidy one, they are not cheap but it'll hold its value. Go on treat yourself.

I suppose at least Ducati only have the taint of the far right Meloni hanging over their brand. I suppose KTM are off the list due to Hitler Thailand and Japan are hardly in the same league as China. I suppose we should stop buying British as we support Saudi Arabia etc, when it suits us. The majority of windsurf boards are made in Thailand at Cobra. I got a bit fed up with their variable quality, so the latest 2 Ive bought are made in Tunisia (French AHD brand) and Vietnam (Italian AV brand). I think AHD might be moving some production to France soon. No doubt Tunisia and Vietnam have domestic issues with something or over, but not in the same league as China. Will China invade Taiwan soon? They have hardly given Hong Kong a free run of the house recently. I used to have Kaspersky anti virus software until the Russians started getting involved in elections around the world 5 years ago or whenever.

That 400 can be made out of condensed child's blood as far as I'm concerned. I'm worried about the West becoming too reliant on China for everything in the same way as Germany became too reliant on Russia for their gas. I think its blindingly obvious.

Well until we start manufacturing the electronic side of things more we are fucked. Let too much of be centralised into a few regions.
As regards the old 400s. I would only buy a CBR, vfr or possibly a zxr400 now. The others are too thin on the ground and at least you can get fairings galore from china for the above. I would be interested to see if a new 400 could carry over potentially better suspension and brakes. 400 with abs. My rc390 would have been a proper weapon with 60hp and the rc390 cup suspension. Sadly I could buy the suspension but the power was dead end unless you spent vast amounts. Pity they have cancelled the rc490 twin.

CBR400, NC30, NC35, ZXR400 - thats a pretty solid base to choose from. You may not be able to get replacement fairings but are you planning on crashing the thing.. Get a nice one, look after it, have some fun, sell it for probably close to what you paid for it.
No contest for me vs a Chinese mash up but different strokes as they say.

I wouldn't want to crash a classic bike but at the same time I'd still want to thrash it. I don't think I could enjoy owning anything historically valuable like a rc30 or something as I'd be distraught for the bike if I wrecked it but bored if I didn't thrash it. Thrashing doesn't necessarily lead to crashing but it makes it more likely.
This said I dropped the gsxr on gravel at about 5-10mph.

RC30 and trash dont belong in the same sentence so I agree with you there.
I'm joining the gsxr owners club soon.
