Hopefully we'll get the same level of dueling we got last year as the Motogp was crap at this circuit. Looks like Maybe more than just Toprak, Bautista and Rea on it this time.

Obviously something serious has happened in Wss300. Hopefully medical intervention goes well.

Well before they cut away it looked like it was getting into one of those tangled up with another bike incidents. They cut very quickly, obviously understandable with the fresh reminder of how dangerous this sport is.

Don't understand why Bautista didn't defend into turn 1 after passing Toprak in SP race....

motobanzai.freeforums.net/post/28709/threadBautista is taking advantage of the V4R's strong points and managing it's short comings; same as JR with the ZX-10RR and TR with the R1M. I never liked Haydon as a commentator and I don't think that adds anything to the Eurosport coverage; he was 2nd tier BSB runner in his time and grid filler during his time in international racing (WSB and 500GP/MotoGP). He could run rings around me on track, of that I have no doubt, and I'm sure that he's a nice bloke, but I wouldn't miss him if he suddenly let our screens.

I didn't mind him as a rider as he made a good photo (usually he was sort of out of shape) but I think he's a bit Sean Emmetty and probably could have been better than he ended up. There were times in 2000s when he was genuinely quick some days. As quick as people who did better.
The nail in the coffin is probably the KawaSARKI thing. The Japanese don't pronounce 'a' as 'ar or ay'. Apparently in Japanese it's sort of kawa-saki with a small non-break between elements. Steve Parrish is the same. I bet those fuckers don#t even pronounce the e at the end of Porsche either. Cunts.

You kind of understand the frustration of getting stuffed down the straightaways by Bautista but he's the only Ducati blitzing them. It's not all down to his diminutive stature, more down to his riding craft and throttle control to get the drive which also keeps the rear tyre healthy for the longer races. The superbike races were unexciting but fuck sake the supersport races were amazing. Top drama.

Yeah whatever is happening in WSS needs to happen to BSS. Drop that GP2 crap. Isn't a lot of this to do with Scott Smart and his power level tinkering?
The Ducati 'rocket ship' thing is annoying because I think the Fireblade is more powerful on paper but nobody is crying about that. It's up to Yamaha and Kawasaki to cook something fresh up if they are getting outpowered. You are right though Pantah, I didn't see Rinaldo just flying by on the straights or Bassani. Redding didn't last year either. It's just one of those rider and bike combinations that works.

Bautista's skill aside and taking nothing away from him, but that Ducati doesn't need any slipstream to pass, it just blitzes everyone down the straight. But you could see other parts of the track where the Yam and Kawa were stronger. It's not like the old days when Ducati had a capacity advantage, so it's up to everyone else to catch up.

I think Rea at least has been quite careful how he words his "complaints" because he knows that it's not every Ducati, that's why he blames Alvaro's stature for the difference. But being small isn't against the rules is it?
Not sure I understand Bautista's retort though, true, Quartararo hasn't asked for Ducati's GP bike to have power limited, but then the rpm of the M1 isn't limited by some algorithm written into the rule book.

Kawasaki appear to have not really done anything to the 2023 ZX10RR so I'm not sure what assurances they gave Rea to sign again? Then again I think Rea's choices were limited. Ducati would be a no with Bautista - a satellite team would be a come-down. Yamaha with Toprak, same deal. That leaves BMW and Honda. Both in need of the winning formula.

They're just going to accept that Alvera is a fantastic rider. This V4 has been ridden by several top riders without success, including the great Scott Redding, and when Bautista first rode it in 2019 he immediately clicked. Only problem was he got crash happy but now he seems to have it sussed, the front end save on turn 1 at the weekend a case in point. In 2019 that would have been a visit to the gravel trap but his feel now matches Rae and Toprak. I hope they do allow a rev increase but don't see it stopping his run to the title. He's going to disappear in Argentina.

The racing this weekend was excellent, especially the WSS. Scott Smart has got the balancing of the bikes performance. It still looks odd, 999cc Ducati v2 against in line 4 600cc. But it wasnt easy watching it after what happened to Steeman in WSS300. Cross fingers he can pull through.
