Wet yesterday.
Dry FP3 just finished. Toprak, Redding, Baz. Didnt see it, but Muir saying loads of crashes and laps cancelled due to yellow flags.
Superpole in less than an hour.

Looking a good race for a few laps until Toprak & Rea made errors and let Bautista in. Redding a good 2nd and Baz also buggered a potential podium up by crashing.

Can't call it a gift cos Redding pushed hard until late in the race but Bautista must be chuckling after Rea and Toprak falling. Toprak was amazing getting 11th though. This is one hell of a season.

The SS300 was good value too.

Lots of what if moments across all the series. SS300 would have been better if not for crashes. WSB would have been better if not for crashes. WSS would have been better if not for crashes.
Johnny Rea doesn't seem to be able to dial back the amp from 11 at the moment. Then again so can't Toprak. Quite funny given his boss was going on about how they'd told him not to go mental with Rea to Bautista's advantage.

Redding still has a bee in his bonnet about the Bautista/Ducati “advantage”. You can only do so much with the genetics you’re born with, he’d struggle if he lost too much weight because it would be muscle. Short of a minimum bike/rider rule, that’s a whole other topic, he’ll just have to suck it up.

Entertaining superpole race. People complain about some of Toprak's passes, but Bautista actually hit Toprak, then he took his hand off the throttle on the racing line and ripped that wing off in Rea's face. If Rea had been right behind Bautista when he slowed, massive crash.

If he gets to second place then moaning about Bautista is fair enough.

Rea has obviously been more deeply affected by the queen's death than he realised. Either than or he's back to his Honda days of riding like a bit of knob.

He clearly lifted and he wasn't even on much lean to begin with. Got away quite lightly really considering Bautista got zero points. Surprised Rinaldi didn't get a punishment for his Rossi style boot at Rea.

Careless riding, the long lap wasn't much of a penalty. JR looks like he's pushing too hard this season trying to keep up, he's normally very smooth or at least he looks smooth. Now he's getting a bit ragged.

Agree about Rea, he looks desperate. In fact the mental state of the three top runners is possibly what is making this season as good as it is.
Bautista is full of confidence and knows that the key is avoiding the mistakes from 2020, it really is all he has to do and he knows it.
Toprak is also full of confidence but has to chanel it in a different way, his ride through the field from last was a masterclass in how to make a comeback without overtaking like a cunt (take note Mr. Marquez).
But Rea is in full on panic mode. He knows he is fast enough but has a bit of a disadvantage, trouble is, riding like that doesn't make up for it.
Pleased for Scott too, not just because of the podium (he knows that with all the players in the game he wouldn't have been there), but because he is showing that he is the best BMW rider and that he is doing the most he can with the bike he has, the rest is down to BMW.

Just watched race 2 and exciting though it was for the spectator i totally agree with Bautista and Chas Davies. That was a deliberate and dangerous manoeuvre which luckily left Alvera without injury. Rea is riding like a desperado and willing to do anything to win. He will be a marked man in Barcelona. Cunt.
