This is getting a bit of a house of cards feeling. Repsol won't want to keep chucking vast amounts into back of the field performance.
The problem is the bikes are too expensive and complicated to make loads of the fill the grids like they did in the 2 stroke days. If Honda or Yamaha leave in coming years it will fall apart. New engine rules going forward are simply fuel based? No great change to electric or hybrid so it's not like Mercedes were doing in F1 and just biding their time until the regs favoured them.

According to Carlo Pernat, Dorna blocked the additional KTMs because that would have allowed Marquez to jump from Honda, and HRC and Repsol have hinted that if Marc jumps they both walk away.
Dorna can't afford to lose HRC and Repsol, so the strategy is to do eveything to keep Marc at HRC in 2024.

Looking like Miller could be the one who's benched as a wildcard rider to make way for Acosta. If he does wildcards he's still 'racing'.
Miller has had his crack at Motogp imo. He's not going to get any better now. He should go to WSB.

Miller wpould wipe the floor with most of the WSB grid on the right bike.
IIRC Puig never mentioned Marc by name with the "riders are free to leave" comments, that was directed at Mir by most accounts. You could also argue that Puig must know that his job is on the line anyway...

It was obvious that Alex was scouting at Ducati to see if it was worth Marc making the jump, but I thought he'd wait for a factory seat to become available!
