I think Marini will improve. He took his time to progress in the other classes also. The class is so competitive now that it so easy to look slow if you are not at the sharp end. I was going to edit my own post to add something similar. Marini came good all of a sudden in Moto2 after languishing for a good while in mediocrity. Ducati however are not known for their patience with riders who need several seasons to come up to speed (unless their dad's are paying the way).

I'd like to see Zarco on the factory Duke....if he keeps up his form you never know. Hasn't Miller only got a 1 year deal?

Ducati have some bloody good riders to choose from to be in their factory team. If Zarco outperforms both the current factory riders, I can see him replacing one of them. But if you are in the Pramac team and also getting full factory equipment, would you want to go? There are some proper weirdos operating in that factory team.

Still can't believe Suzuki can't get another 2 bikes together.

The Suzuki GP team has always operated on a small budget. They used to have a mend and make do attitude to racing back in the 80's and 90's. Plenty of horror stories about them welding up fucked frames and repairing crankcases with araldite. If you go back and look at the Pepsi and Lucky Strike era in 500's, any photos taken on a Friday or a Saturday will show how scruffy the bikes were at times. When the class moved to MotoGP the team were known as wash and go by some paddock pundits due to the fact their team apparel was kept for the entire season and washed between rounds instead of being replaced with new each round like every other team in the class. Only way they will ever supply more bikes to another team is if the team in question is willing to pay far more than what it would cost to lease a Ducati. And who is willing to do that?

Didn't know they were such cheap fucks. Was the WSB stuff 'factory' factory or just like Ten Kate shit? I can't remember.

When Suzuki came back into WSB in 1996, it was a team run by Harris but there were proper Suzuki personnel in the team and Suzuki put in a lot of effort with testing and upgrades. Not quite a full-on factory effort in the truest sense but every bit as factory as any other team in WSB at that point. The team would regularly test alongside the 500 squad and it was definitely a proper attempt to win at WSB level. They did a ton of testing all around the world. Reynolds and McCarthy in 1996 and then Whitham and Hale in 1997, followed by Whitham and Goddard in 1998 before the team changed hands from Harris to Alstare. It could be argued that Alstare received less factory support than Harris did previously.

Not for me lol. Most of what I know or remember is all common knowledge to anyone who followed the sport at the time. It's not insider info, just what was about in the press or talked about during commentary at race weekends.

I tell you who loved a gossip and a fanciful conspiracy theory, Twiggy. We had some funny late night chats over the years. I won't repeat any in honour of his memory but as much as I loved the bloke, he had some funny conspiracy theories. I used to tell him that's a load of bollocks Twig, but he never wavered.

Can't remember if it was Twiggy that had some strange stories about the Padgetts.

Lots of news surrounding VR46 in the last few days, and the declarations of the Aramco owner that there is nothing signed between them.
Some are suggesting that if Rossi doesn't commit to ride one of the bike, the prince might pull out (ooh er).
That might explain the "delay" in Rossi's decision, although he always drags out this kind of stuff anyway*.
(* To any potential readers under the age of 30, note that "anyway" does not have an "s" at the end)
