I had a butchers as it was Mugello and was curious to see how it might improve the procession. I'll never know seeing as how they bollocksed it right up.

The top speed isn’t much different to MotoGP, but I think they are around 30s a lap quicker...not surprising when you see them going from T2 to T8.....incredible. I did a trackday at Brands Indy circuit and Tyrell F1 turned up to do a few laps testing during the lunch break. Its the only time I've seen F1 cars in anger live, incredible noise and corner speed. In the morning we had all been riding around an oil spill with cement dust on it at Clearways. Nobody fancied riding over it on full lean. They cleared that up nicely.

Why the fuck would anyone torture themselves watching this shite? I watched the highlights as I thought it would be interesting to see F1 around Mugello. It was funny towards the end when they told Hamilton to keep off the kerbs to stop tyre wear. Hamilton asked which kerbs, they replied all of them. Shortly after he said its slower not using the kerbs. No shit Sherlock. They put tarmac outside of the kerbs because drivers put a tyre in the dirt and span or kicked debris onto the track. It was done for a safety reason. They took advantage of that. Then moan. That driver who had a rear blowout at Arrabiatta 1 hit the tyres at some speed and it looks a fair amount of runoff there. Hopefully they wont return otherwise we might see changes to the circuit.

I took my ma to the Silverstone F1, 2003 i think, she watched most races so i thought i'd treat her to a day in the start finish grandstands, when the pack came round to start their first flying lap the noise reverberating in the stands was terrific, i could barely hear myself shouting to her who was where in the race. The race itself ? well the pack were close until a rain shower came then Schumacher just vanished into the distance. Also remember how fuck off expensive the food and drink was.

In about '97, when I passed BH on the way to work, I learned to keep an eye out for transporters. One day we spotted Tyrell and popped back over lunch. By then, I knew to use the tunnel. I think we had Salo at full chat passing the pit wall we were on. That was fucking ace.

Jeez, he was lucky. Was he stunned for a few seconds after the initial impact then came around to a ball of fire?

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/55124967Ok he hit the barrier at 137mph so not surprising the car split in 2 or pierced the barriers. If you make the barriers solid like concrete there would be no absorption of forces, the car would take it all. They are pointy wedge shaped to make them fast. Its not a surprise there was a fire, it was fully loaded and as the article mentions if a tank is greatly compressed then the fuel is going to burst out. You cant compress liquid. Do the fuel tanks have double skinned partitions to allow for some compression of the tank? I would guess so, even BSB bike tanks have something in the tank to stop the fuel sloshing around. But the tank was full. No mention of how close to the track the barrier was. Take a look at the multi million $ business of F1 on street racing at big cities. How close are the barriers there? He was lucky he wasn't knocked out and was able to hop over the barrier unaided. It was quite clear the doc from the medical car couldn't get any closer due to the heat and wasn't wearing a fire fighting type suit. If it was lap 2 the car wouldn't have been there so quickly. Will F1 review racing at places where the barriers are close to the track? Will they fuck.

Hopefully no lung damage for the fella. Breathing in fire generally isn't a good idea.
The barrier angle was asking for trouble looking at it from behind if in front, if you know what I mean.

I was just 'one of those things' in many ways. The track is fairly wide as tracks go and it's rare for a car to go off at such an angle into barriers. Could easily happen at higher speeds at places like Monza, it's just usually cars are getting moved to the outside from inside move not shot off to the inside. Imagine if they tangled at the parabolica and fired off the inside. ouch.

I never watch F1 but my son is a big fan and chatting on the phone the other night he said if was going to watch any races go to catch up and watch last weekend's night race in Sakhir (exactly, where the fuck is that?). I did watch it and do you know what, in the words of Larry David, it was pretty, pretty good. It had potential fairytale debut written all over it with 22 year old George Russell, Williams driver with zero points to his career standing in for Hamilton for a one off drive. He should have won but the normally uber efficient Mercedes team totally fucked up the pitstop and put wrong tyres on, had to pit again dropping to 5th, was about to lead again then had to pit again with a puncture. Even after all that he still got 9th and points for the first time nearly catching his experienced teammate.
Really enjoyed proper commentary and knowledgeable punditry, probably be shit again but fair play that was exciting.
More kudos to the George lad as he is 5 in taller than Hamilton and had to use boots a size too small to fit in the car and the hand controls were also designed for midget sized Lewis so it must have been so difficult to drive yet he never put a foot wrong.
Definitely a future F1 star

Well that's the rub though Pantah. I think he will fall through the cracks of money and politics and never get that star drive, he doesn't have the out of the car x-factor you sometimes need to get a drive. I bet in few years he'll be doing Le Mans and some other GT shite whilst mediocre Mick Schumacher has a drive.

What the fuck happened to Vettel? Did he fall into a time accelerator? At least Hamilton bought some hair with his money.
