Another solid ride from McPhee, going to be a good battle in M3. Nightmare for Marquez in M2...he was never going to catch Morbidelli on the last lap...an easy 20 points lost. And another disaster for the Marquez family in MotoGP!...self-inflicted...
P.S. Solid results for the Tech3 team, and great fun watching Zarco smoking the rear during his battle with Pedrosa!.

Intelligent ride from McPhee, good to see. Impressive from Mir though.
Oliveira did well on the KTM in M2.
Surprised that Cal didn't make more of an issue about being top Honda!
Can I change my mind about MV? I thought he might struggle to keep the wins coming... seems like I was wrong, again!

Mir on point, but it will come good for McPhee. Impressive.
havn't seen the M2 race.
MM back to old ways? When you gap the field by 2 secs in a couple of laps you are pushing. He could have taken it down a notch and would still have increased his lead and probably won.
MV worked it slow and steady.
Good for Cal, but comes across a bit dickish. Fast enough with the warning light on, but not fast enough when VR passed and pace was slow??
JL, whoops...

rossi is having a 2015 season all over again. not fast enough to win. nowhere in dry practice. moved up the grid during a wet qualifying. stayed on and took good points. he rode great though and so did cal. but did anyone think he would repass valentino? no. me either. i don't feel like things have settled yet. two weird rounds and another to follow. i think it's all going to kick off at jerez.

I agree that we really won't get a good feel for things until Jerez. Austin is a MM specialty track, and he is always insanely fast there. Would be interesting if MV went balls out to keep up with him and made a mistake... But yes, Rossi never seems to get into top gear until the European season starts. And something is certainly strange about his pace so far. Yesterday he rode pretty much the entire race at a pace significantly faster than any lap he had done in practice. All weekend he struggled to break at 1:40.5, and then suddenly he is reeling off 1:40 flats and a few high 1:39's? Hopefully he knows something we don't, and it wasn't simply a case of having fast guys in front of him to use as a reference point (his pace was still good after he got around Cal). As for MM, he probably had in the back of his mind that Vinales had the best pace all weekend, and so he wanted to get the biggest gap possible early on. Either way, with this little hole he dug for himself he is going to have to push hard for the win at Austin. Dovi seems to have the worst luck in GP, even worse that Pedrosa. And Lorenzo is certainly having a time of it. Nice ride from Petrucci though, and good to see Bautista in a decent spot.

Ask Dovi about luck and the way Petrucci was riding.... Dovi.... "But when I was behind Danilo, and he finished completely the rear tyre, he was riding in a bad way. He stopped a lot of riders. He rode in a strange way. I think it was too much. Everybody tries to use his [own] style and this is normal, this is good. But in the way he use it, it was very bad."

Joan Mir looking good in Moto 3, both races he's been able to stay in front a few laps before being passed, for the others its a case of every 3rd or 4th corner.

Yes, I just saw that quote from Dovi, and honestly it's a big head scratcher. If Petruci's rear tire was totally done and Dovi couldn't pass him with a slightly better version of the same bike, I don't think that's Petrucci's fault, is it? Dovi has had some terrible luck, and he is generally a nice guy (did you see how hot is wife/GF looked in Parc Firme at Qatar?!!), but he can get a big arrogant and annoying at times. He knows he doesn't have a shot at the title, so I think he is just annoyed that he lost a chance to take something like a 30 point lead over Lorenzo. Make no mistake, with Lorenzo earning probably 10X as much as Dovi is making, Andrea is desperate to beat him this year.

Petrucci is known for very late braking - you don't need a rear tire for that. Ducati have to be missing Iannone - hr did stupid things but made headlines in a better way than Lorenzo.
