Sounds like Cal's new contract is effectively the 3rd factory bike but in a private team. Best of both worlds I'd say, he get's good kit and doesn't have to deal with all the PR bollox. If Ducati have sense they will do the same with Petrucci, Tardozzi looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp in qualifying yesterday. If JL has more weekends like this I can't see the management putting up with it. Petrux is a good backup plan. i heard an interview saying that cal's PR commitments will increase now. can't remember who it was with. some time over the weekend anyway. also, i can't see ducati doing anything about jorge. it's not the first time they've been colossally let down by an ex-yamaha world champion.

Yeah, not even Rossi was this bad!

You have to hand it to the old fella, Rossi pulled a blinder in Aseen. I'm not sure if the reported lack of blue flags was accurate, but he definitely made to the most of the back markers. Excellent ride by Petrucci... a win can't be too far off. Hats off to Marquez for third; once Cal came past he realised the conditions were as bad a first thought and pushed hard to re-take the position... all within a lap. Cal admitted that he passed MM too early.
I haven't seen Moto2 yet, but great racing all round; McPhee really needs to qualify better!

Great win for Rossi, he had a 1 second lead before it started spitting with rain and was looking good for the win. I reckon the rain did slow him down a bit so we had a 4-way scrap at one point. I think he judged it perfectly, took no risks and when someone did pass him he got the place back. The best race so far this year and shaping up to be one of the best seasons for a while.

Gutted for Cal to miss out on the rostrum, but he really brought out the competitive edge in MM at the end. Marquez playing it safe for a few points not wanted another DNF? As soon as Crutchlow passed him he upped his game and flew past him in one corner.

Anyway, how long is Pedrosa's contract? He's been pretty terrible lately. End of 2018 I think. Sachsenring next, if its dry I reckon he might win again there (4 so far). Seems this years wet tyres arent his thing.

So, enough of the Rossi wankfest anyone watch the Moto2 race? Pasini was "overtaken" in the last turn on the last lap by Nakagami, has nowhere to go as Nakagami was over the curb himself, straightlines the chicane but penalised 1 place. Memories of 2015.

Just saw the M2 race, very good.
Think the Pasini call was right.

Just saw the M2 race, very good. Think the Pasini call was right. Me too. Nakagami was clearly in front at the apex. Pasini took the most advantageous line he could (between the gravel and the kerb), and gained his place back, I'm not sure how he thought he would get away with that.

Yup, watched Moto2 last night; excellent race. Pasini could have been a bit more gracious, but some racers will see things in a different light when the adrenaline is still flowing.
Great racing in all classes for a change.

I thought Nakagami's back whel was alongside Pasini's front wheel, there wasnt a clear gap. If he had followed his normal racing line I reckon they would have collided. But Pasini did make the most of the situation and gunned it after picking the bike up. If the green tarmac was deep gravel he couldn't have done that.

I've just had a thought (which hurt like hell I might add); IF Rossi goes on to win the championship, does anyone think that he might bring his retirement forward, or do you think he will see out his contract?

He would do another year if WC, I have absolutely no doubt in my view. He's not going to retire if hes still winning (therefore probably enjoying it) and Ago's win record is within sight. Current: Ago: 122 Rossi: 115 That record is still a massively tall order, but one massive carrot none-the less.
